Ervin “Pete” Eugene Bond, 68, Oaktown, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Pete was born January 23, 1948, in Oaktown, the son of Wayne Theodore Bond and Marjorie Louise (Darrough) Leslie. He graduated from North Knox class of 1966. He was an iron worker at Vincennes Steel and loved to play golf, fish, go camping, and ride ATV’s. Pete was a member of the Oaktown Methodist Church, Vincennes VFW, Vincennes American Legion Post 73, Vincennes 40 et 8, and the French Club. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Pete is survived by his daughter, Susan Bond Bobe of Oaktown; brother, Gordon (Lee) Bond of Bedford, KY; sister, Donna Timms-Binkley of Russellville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Cain; brother, Wayne Bond Jr.; and nephew, Dale Burr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Glenn Archer officiating at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Oaktown Chapel. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Oaktown Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.fredrickandson.com.
