Ronald Bernard Shaw, 80, of Vincennes

Ronald Bernard Shaw, 80, of Vincennes, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Monday, September 12, 2016.

Ron was born in Albion, Illinois on April 26, 1936 to Lyman Shaw and Barbara (Lancaster) Shaw.
He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute with a degree in Civil Engineering. Ron was president and co-owner of Shaw Contractors and Builders, and R and R Coal Company alongside his brother, Richard.
After his ordination as a minister, he enjoyed working with the youth at Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village in Vincennes for many years while preparing the presently named Ark of Safety Barn on Monty road for ministry. He enjoyed seeing hurting people encouraged and their needs met through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the body of Christ ministering to one another and fellowshipping together.
Ron is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis (Harding) Shaw, co-founder of Ark of Safety Ministries of Vincennes; his sons, Matthew D. Shaw and his wife, Lori of Cloverdale, Nathan A. Shaw and his wife, Kate of West Chester, Ohio; his daughter, Karen Lane of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Brice Shaw, Owen Shaw, Luke Shaw, Abbey Hill, Brianna Webb, and Laurel Webb; and a great grandson, Tripp Champion.
Also surviving are his sisters, Nancy VanVorst, Sally Hulfachor and her husband Pat, all of Indianapolis; and a brother, Richard Shaw and his wife, Phyllis of Mt. Carmel; and several aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday. September 17, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Nathan Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 amuntil the service.
