Avis June Lamb

Avis June Lamb, 85, Oaktown, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Avis was born February 25, 1931, in Plainville, the daughter of Claude Bateman and Thelma (Clayton) Bateman Beeman. She married Norman Vee Lamb on October 7, 1951. She worked as a nurse’s aide on the pediatrics floor at Good Samaritan Hospital. Avis was an active member of Shaker Prairie Christian Church.
Avis is survived by her son, Richard Lamb of Indianapolis; daughters, Angie Toney and her husband Brad, of Oaktown and Tammy Cardinal and her husband Kim of Oaktown; grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Carter of Clinton, IN, Machelle (Bradley) Trittipo of Morristown, IN, Alissa (Aaron) Hoalt of Oaktown, Daniel (Heather) Cardinal of Oaktown, Mike (Brandy) Toney of Carlisle, and Mary Lamb of Oaktown; eighteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Stultz of Carlisle, Marjorie Lavely of Waukegan, IL, Cindy Hatfield of Oaktown; a brother, Harley Beeman of Oaktown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman, on August 27, 2014; one son, Mark Lamb; one granddaughter, Jessica Lamb; two great-grandchildren, Jude Michael and Audrey Nicole Toney.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Oaktown Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home with Minister Kirk Langston officiating. She will be laid to rest at Shepherd Cemetery.
