Work is expected to start later this week on connecting walking trails at Fox Ridge Nature Park.

Knox County Parks Superintendent Rama Sobhani says Huey Excavating will be laying down an additional half-mile of asphalt pavement to tie the trails together. Sobhani says it will also help with making the park A-D-A compliant. For those who have difficulty walking uphill, Sobahni says they can stay on the flatter portion of the trails. Sobahani estimates it will take less than a week to complete the work. The parks department is also looking at adding fishing docks to the ponds in the park. The original cost estimate for the paving project was 67-thousand dollars. However, Sobahni says they’ve had to re-route a portion of the trail to stay within the park’s boundary lines and add some additional drainage.
