Knox and Daviess Counties will see Community Crossings money

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced  Tuesday that 99 Southern Indiana cities, towns and counties will receive a combined $49 million to improve local roads and bridges through the state’s Community Crossings matching grant fund.

Bicknell received $88,550, Vincennes $800,150 dollars, Knox County $404,600 dollars, Washington $350,605 dollars, and Princeton received $650,000.

The city of Vincennes applied for the grants to be used on 9 projects in the local area. City Engineer, John Sprague, says the total amount for the renovations is approximately 1.6 million dollars with a reimbursement of $800,000. Not every city who applied for the grant was guaranteed money.

In Daviess County, the county is getting a million dollars while the city of Washington gets $350,000.
