Enrollment is down campus wide.

As the fall semester at Vincennes University gets underway, VU President Chuck Johnson says the school is facing several challenges. Johnson told returning faculty and staff at Wednesday’s opening meeting that enrollment is down system wide. He noted that VU isn’t the only state school facing a downturn in enrollment, but it affects Vincennes even more given the size of the school.

This year, Johnson says there will be a greater focus on remediation to prevent student from falling behind in their studies.

The University also has signed partnerships with schools in Japan and China in an effort to grow the number of International students attending classes here.

Johnson indicated that VU also needs to continue marketing scholarships available to Illinois students in an effort to increase enrollment.
