Jack L. Fields, 81, passed away August 15, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Jack had worked in the Maintenance Dept. at Good Samaritan Hospital, and also in security and in the boiler room. After the hospital, he worked for the Vincennes Parks Dept.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.

In his spare time, Jack enjoyed the outdoors. For many years, his favorite pastimes were boating, fishing, and camping. He appreciated craftsmanship, and completed many projects through the years. In later years, Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Riding in a golf cart and sight seeing were favorite activities.

Born October 14, 1934, in Washington, IN, he was the son of Joseph and Ruth (Purdue) Fields – Thurston. His parents; his son, Scott Fields; brothers, Bob and Bill Fields; and a grandson, Chris Boldrey, preceded him.

Surviving is his wife, Sondra (Snider) Fields; his daughters, Pam Boldrey and her husband, Dennis, of Morganfield, KY, Linda Fields of West Plains, MO, and Gala Fields of Vincennes; his sons, Rick Fields of Ohio, and John Fields and his wife, Deanna, of Vincennes; a sister, Betty Bonhomme of Vincennes; grandchildren, Matthew Phoenix and his wife, Jessica, Jennifer Buckman and her husband, Brock, Misty Heacock and her husband, Carl, Jackie Skinner and her husband, Lee, Monica Valcore and her husband, Joel, Kelly Fields, Trevor Fields, and Jessica Wildman; and great-grandchildren, Elsie Heacock, Sydney Boldrey, Joseph Thompson, Tyler Heacock, Erica Boldrey, Candice Skinner, Daegan Wildman, Katelyn Heacock, Gracie Buckman, Ayliah Skinner, Audrey Phoenix, Lexie Buckman, Drake Buckman, Aliviah Heacock, and Kimberly Fields.

Friends may visit with Jack’s family on Wednesday, from 5;00 – 8:00, at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home. His service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
