The Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes has added another vintage tank to its collection.

Museum Curator Jim Osborne says the World War Two era Russian tank was acquired from the Marine Corps museum in Quantico, Virginia. He says the T-34 tank also saw action during the Korean War.

Osborne had been negotiating with the marines for sometime to acquire the tank. Don Jones with Pioneer Oil Company provided two semitrailers to transport the tank to Vincennes.

Osborne says the tank is going to require extensive work before it can be displayed including sandblasting the exterior of the tank.

Osborne says the museum is currently in the planning stages for its annual salute to World War Two over the Labor Day weekend. He says they will be showcasing some new artillery pieces. Osborne is also hoping to have a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen as one of the guest speakers during the weekend festivities.
