A Vincennes Family who lost their home is getting a new residence built for them.
Volunteers with Helping His Hands started in yesterday putting up the framing for the new home at 1032 N. 12th Street.
Director Scott Shipman says a tree landed on the former residence during a storm back in May. Shipman says he was approached
by City officials to see if Helping His Hands could provide the family with some assistance.
Shipman says a number of businesses have stepped forward to donate materials and services needed to build the new two bedroom home.
However, Shipman says they are still about 15-thousand dollars short of their goal. He says donations can be mailed to Helping His Hands at 102 E. Lyndale in Vincennes or by going online to HelpingHisHands-dot-com.
