Dora M. Miley, formerly of St. Francisville, Illinois and a resident of the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, passed away on March 27, 2016 at Lawrence County Hospital.
She was born April 21, 1926 in Lawrence County, Illinois to Henry Emmet and Lula (Keene) Miley
Dora had a long career in sales working at Abernathy’s, Strastin Hastings, Gimbel Bond, Hills, and the Baby Store in Lawrenceville. She was a member of the Emmanuel Tabernacle Apostolic and the United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included yodeling, cooking, yardwork, going to church, and in her last few years, coloring.
Surviving is her brother, Emmet (Cora) Miley of St. Elmo; and 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,; her brother and sisters, Zelma Michael, Mary Briner, Gene Miley, Norma Lee Patterson, Erma Jean Miley, and Shirley Joan Hawley, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday CST August 1, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Chaplain Brad Fausnacht officiating. Burial will follow in the Billet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am CSTuntil the service. Online condolences may be made at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com
