Rev. Don R. Smith, 86, of Vincennes, went to meet his Lord and Savior at 6:38 am Saturday, July 9th, 2016.

Don was born August 31, 1929 in Vincennes to Ira and Leota (Sisson) Smith
A 1946 graduate of Fritchton High School, he served as pastor of Cornerstone Ministries for 51 years, retiring in 2009. Don also was the Past Chairman of the Indiana Central District of International Ministerial Association and served his country in the US Army from 1949 to 1951.
His ownership in businesses included Wabash Valley Sales, Smith Brockway Sales and services,  Agricultural Marketing, American Truck Brokers, Eagle Brokers, Eagle Auto Sales, and then worked with sons in their business, Midwest Marketing, and had also been the Sales Manager at Dixie Orchard.
Surviving are his children, Jin Smith and his wife Carrie, Sharon Speth and her husband Larry, Randy Smith and his wife Pam, Dolores Tyner and her husband Mike, Rick Smith, and Mick Smith and his fiance’ Sandi Decker, all of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Toby Smith, Amber (Mike) Berry, Sean (Andrea) Smith, Kyle Smith, Dusty (Jaime) Speth, Lori (Mike) Kelso, Heather (Spencer) Sokol, Robbie (Leslie) Smith, Lexie (Matt) Dobbs, Hayley (David) Mincey, Kelly (Aaron) Tyner, Curtis (Jasmine) Smith, Becky Smith, and Katie Smith; his step grandchildren, Robin Anglin, and Ryan Fields, 26 great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Violet “Sis” Houck, and Phyllis Snider.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife who was the love of his life, Barbara (Crowley) Smith, whom he married on June 18, 1950 and passed away on September 23, 2013; his brothers, Ed Smith, Harold Smith, Jack Smith, and Doyle Smith; and two grandchildren, Shirley Smith, and Samantha Tyner.
A Celebration of Rev. Don R. Smith will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Cornerstone Ministries. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home.
