The Division of Mental Health and Addiction has awarded the Samaritan Center at Good Samaritan Hospital with a contract expansion and grant extension from the state of Indiana. The Samaritan Center received the recognition and funding because of the quality of care and increased number of patients the hospital is seeing.

Andrea Cole, GSH Executive Director of Behavioral Health, says this award recognizes how great their staff is and all of the hard work they put in.

The contract expansion will provide the Samaritan Center with an extra $109,000, while the DMHA grant extension will provide an additional $267,000. This money will help supply treatment for individuals with chronic addiction, mental illness, and serious emotional disturbance.

The Samaritan Center also received a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant worth $230,000 to help aid in the treatment and recovery of substance abuse.
