Marcella May “Sally” Holtz, age 94 of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in Vincennes, IN at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born November 14, 1921 in Bridgeport to Ellis and Clara (Dolby) Palmer.
She married Robert Holtz in 1946, and he preceded her in death in August of 1994.
Mrs. Holtz graduated from Bridgeport Township High School then attended beauty school. She devoted much of her life to being a loving wife and mother, and she was a long-time member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
Surviving family includes: three children- Galen Holtz and his wife Sherry of Lawrenceville, Chuck Holtz and his wife Teresa of Bridgeport, and Bobbie Campbell and her husband Richard of Evansville, IN: eight grandchildren- Amy Niemerg, Ronna Lewis, Eric Holtz, Tona Ambrose, Sonya Nash, Amanda Walters, Chris Campbell, and Courtney Campbell: twenty great-grandchildren: three sisters- Ruby Greenlee, Beulah Rister, and Jeannie Kirchner and her husband Harry: and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held for Marcella May “Sally” Holtz at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Bridgeport City Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday evening, June 19, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
