Phillip Lynn Hoskinson, age 67 of rural Lawrenceville, passed away at his home with his wife and son by his side on Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born in Princeton, IN on February 21, 1949 to Winfred and Mae Hoskinson.

Phill was affectionately known by many as “The Greek”.

He married Joyce Pollard in Albion, IL on January 31, 1970, and she survives.

Phill had worked at the Texaco Refinery, and then he had a Marathon Distributorship. Following that, he drove a truck for years for Gregory’s Gravel Company. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting out antiques with Joyce, and baseball. He was a long-time Atlanta Braves fan. Phill was a member of the Lawrenceville Elks, Moose, and American Legion.

Surviving family includes: his wife- Joyce Hoskinson of rural Lawrenceville: his son whom he was very proud of and considered his greatest accomplishment- Erick Hoskinson of rural Lawrenceville: and 4 step-grandchildren- Nevaeh Lynn Griggs (She was the apple of Phill’s eye), and Madilyn, William, and Ella Scarber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Mae Hoskinson, and a step-grandson, Hayden Wyatt Webster.

Phill’s family would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to Dr. Gary Carr, his staff, and the Hospice nurses for all the care and compassion given to them and Phill throughout his illness.

A graveside service for Phill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Bridgeport City Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is handling the services.
