Two face resisting and alcohol charges after an overnight incident, A Daviess County farmer has died after a farm equipment accident, there are Jeeps in Vincennes and Fords in Washington to see today…

 

TWO JAILED EARLY THIS MORNING

-An investigation at 2:38 this morning at Short and New Albany Streets in Vincennes resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old Russell Smith and 33-year-old Carl E. Heacock. Police went to the location on a criminal mischief complaint. Both men were taken into custody at the scene for resisting law enforcement and public intoxication. Vincennes City Police were assisted by Vincennes University officers.


 

LAWRENCE COUNTY ILLINOIS FATAL

One person has died after a Thursday morning accident on U.S. 50 in Lawrence County.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 8:40 a.m., west of Lawrenceville on U.S. 50.
Police say 38-year-old Brad Edwards, of Greencastle, was traveling west on Highway 50 when he lost control of his Dodge pick-up, went off the roadway and into a ditch, where his vehicle struck a tree. The Lawrence County Coroner pronounced Edwards dead at the scene.


 

DAVIESS FATAL
A Daviess County man died yesterday as the result of a Thursday farming accident north of Montgomery on Daviess County Road 500-north.
Authorities say that 41-year-old Andrew Graber was operating a bean drill with a team of horses and he was run over by the drill. The Amish farmer and minister, was found in the field and was later flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He succumbed to injuries on Friday.


 

CARS SHOWS
Today is the very first Heep of Jeeps Festival. That is for all makes and models of Jeeps. It’s being put on by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Yochum Auto and Midwest Jeeps. The event is a fundraiser for the Helping His Hands ministry of Knox County which helps in disaster relieve as well as in helping to get those having hard times back on their feet through a food pantry and household item donation service. They also operate a house where a family in need can stay if needed while rebuilding their lives. There’ll be a bounce house for the kids, live music and more at the Vincennes Rendezvous Grounds today.

Meanwhile in Washington, The 2nd annual Bill Dobson Car Show is from 8 to noon today at and around their downtown Washington location. It’s for Ford vehicles only and that includes, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Edsel. 50 vehicles participated last year, they hope that double that today. Registration is 8 to noon. It’s all free. The show goes until 3. You are asked to bring non perishable food items as food is being collected to donate to the Feed My Sheep Food Pantry.
