North Knox lunches going up

A 55 cent increase will be implemented over several years.

 

The North Knox School Board has approved an increase in school lunch prices. Starting this fall, Students will pay 10-cents more for lunches. Superintendent Darrel Bobe says due to federal regulations school lunch prices have to go up 55-cents. But Bobe says they plan to phase the total increase in over the next five years instead of all at once.

In a related matter, The school board renewed their food service contract with Aramark.

The Board also agreed to purchase new boilers for North Knox High School from Commercial Services for 192-thousand dollars. The school board also agreed to spend just over 73-thousand dollars for new carpeting at North Knox Intermediate elementary and another 39-thousand dollars on new doors at the High School.
