Authorities identify construction worker who fell earlier this week in Vincennes

Samuel Cooper of Clinton, Indiana remains hospitalized.

 

The name of the construction worker who was injured in a fall from the U.S. 50 overpass Wednesday has been identified. Vincennes Police say 23-year-old Samuel Cooper of Clinton, Indiana remains in stable but critical condition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. Cooper fell 30 feet from the bridge landing on the C-S-X railroad tracks Wednesday morning. He was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital before he was taken to Evansville. A facebook page to help raise money for Cooper’s medical expenses has been created. According to information posted on the page by family members, Cooper remains in a coma. At this point, its unclear if he suffered any brain damage as a result of the fall. Cooper was employed by an Illinois company that was refurbishing 5-bridges in the Vincennes area for INDOT
