Specs and prices are being reviewed.  Officials hope to award a contract next month.

The Knox County Parks Board has three bids for paving an additional half-mile of new trails at the Foxridge Nature Park. Parks Superintendent Rama Sobahni says bids were received from Huey Excavating of Sandborn, Wabash Utilities and Hendrixson Concrete Construction. The parks board took the bids under advisement. Sobahni says he and city engineer John Sprauge will be getting together to review the specs and make a recommendation to the board. Sobahni says they expect to hold a special meeting of the parks board in a couple of weeks to award a contract.

In a related matter, Sobahni says that architects Donovan & Donovan architects are in early stages of design for adding a restroom facility at Foxridge. He says the restrooms will be fully modernized with indoor plumbing and be A-D-A compliant. The Parks Department received a federal land & water grant to pay for the improvements.

Clubs and other individuals wanting to hold an event at Wabash Trails Park are being asked to sign a consent form. Superintendent Rama Sobahni says the consent form allows park officials to review park rules and etiquette with event organizers. He says persons should get in touch with the park office at 812-882-4316 so they can review the consent form with them prior to scheduling an event.
