Post cards to be sent to voters in effort to update records

The Indiana Secretary of State’s office will begin mailing postcards to voters across the state in an effort to update inaccurate or outdated information.

The cards will allow residents to indicate if a person no longer lives at an address they are registered to vote under. The cards will also remind voters to visit a state website to make sure their voting information is accurate and up-to-date ahead of the Nov. 8 presidential election.

Secretary of State Connie Lawson says more than 730,000 voter records were found to be out of date of no longer valid in 2014.

Those without internet access can update their information at their local county clerks’ office or at a Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch.
