Original constitutions to be on display in Vincennes.

Vincennes will be hosting a special Bicentennial exhibit starting later this week.

“Birth of a State: The Indiana Exhibit” will be on display May 20 through June 5th at the Old Cathedral Library and Museum. The exhibition will be free and open to the public daily from 1-4pm.

The exhibition features the original 1816 and 1851 Indiana Constitutions, along with other historic documents and artwork related to the state’s formation.

Director of the state archives Jim Corridan, says it is not everyday that residents get the chance to view the Constitution in their hometown.

From Vincennes the exhibition will travel to Corydon for the rest of June, with a final display set for December at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
