Rainy weather has not hampered farmer’s work.
This spring’s rainy weather has not slowed down corn planting. 30% of the crop has already been planted as of May 1st according to Purdue Extension. That’s well above last year’s pace when 16% of the corn crop was in the ground.
The news is also pretty good for soybeans. 6% of that crop has been planted to date, compared with 3% at this time last year.
