Phyllis Joanne Padgett, 82, of St. Francisville, IL passed away peacefully on May 2, 2016 at her home.

Phyllis Joanne Padgett, 82, of St. Francisville, IL passed away peacefully on May 2, 2016 at her home. She was born April 18, 1934 to Glenn and Gladys (Clark) Winkles in Hammond, IN and moved to St. Francisville when she was in the 7th grade.

Phyllis was a loving wife and married William (Bill) Padgett on July 6, 1952. They were married for 62 wonderful years before Bill’s death in 2014. She was a mother above all else and was the proud parent of seven children, twelve grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was involved in many activities in St. Francisville and a member of the United Methodist Church where she was so involved. Phyllis spent her time caring for her family and others in the community providing love and encouragement to those in need. She was a homemaker and an essential part of Padgett Producing/Padgett Drilling since its inception.

Phyllis is survived by her children: Becky (Rick) Andrews, Mt. Carmel; Tom Padgett, St. Francisville; Tamara (Brad) Fausnacht, St. Francisville; Rod (Jen) Padgett, Cocoa Beach, FL; Amie (Michael) Moriarty, Hong Kong and Rachel Padgett, St. Francisville. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. They are Gabe (Stephanie) Padgett, Valarie (Austin) Waggoner, Eric (Kendra) and Brad Andrews, Ross (Dani) and Will (Jessica) Padgett, Hunter (Jacque) and Heath (India) Fausnacht, Noah and Zane Padgett, E.W and Cheney Moriarty. Her great-grandchildren are Bella, Bayley and Bentley Andrews; Evelyn, Jonathon and Roland Padgett; Camden Waggoner; Lincoln Fausnacht.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2014; her eldest son, Reg, who passed in 2006 of Multiple Sclerosis; her parents and her siblings, Charlotte White and Harold Winkles.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT at the First United Methodist Church in St. Francisville. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at the Oaklawn Cemetery. Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
