Vincennes University President Chuck Johnson told members of this year’s graduating class to be proud of the degree they are earning and the skill set they have gained. As students head out into the work world, Johnson told students to put those skills to good use

During V-U’s 210th commencement ceremonies on Saturday, The University presented William Updike an Honorary Degree. A 1968 VU Alumnus, Updike told students he was very proud of his VU diploma and credited his success in the business world to his education at VU.

Updike and his family made a 2-million dollar lead gift to the University last year for construction of a new Science, Engineering and Mathematics facility on campus. The new facility will be named Updike Hall in honor of Bill Updike’s family. This year’s graduating class has over 2-thousand members representing all VU sites.
