Nancy (Jones) Anderson, of Vincennes

Nancy (Jones) Anderson passed away April 19, 2016, at her residence. A native of Chanute, KS, she had been a resident of Vincennes since 1999.

Nancy taught elementary school in Corpus Christi, TX, for three years, and speech and drama for 6 years at Royster Junior High in Chanute, KS, until her marriage in 1966.

Nancy was secretary for The Wildlife Sanctuary Dept. of the National Audubon Society, of Sharon, CT, where she and her husband made their home prior to moving to Abbeville, LA in 1982. She continued assisting in Mr. Anderson’s office until his retirement as Vice President / Director of the Wildlife Sanctuary Dept. in 1987.

Surviving is one sister, Janice Moody of Vincennes; a niece, Melinda Moody of Anderson, IN; a step-daughter, Dr. Constance Anderson-Bielert of Oneonta, NY; a step-son, Maj. John E. M. Anderson (Ret.) of Arabella by Tain, Scotland; four grand-children; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Anderson; and her parents, Frank and Eunice Jones.

Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

There will be no service, per Mrs. Anderson’s request.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Vincennes Pet Port or Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.
