Appropriations approved this week will be used for improvements to James Street…

The Lawrenceville City Council this week appropriated over 90 thousand dollars for infrastructure improvements in the City’s TIF District.

Mayor Don Wagner indicated 80-thousand dollars will be going to resurface James Street from Porter Avenue to Highway 250. Wagner says the street hasn’t been re-surfaced in over 20-years and is seeing an increase in the volume of traffic since the new High School was built.

The other project deals with replacing a storm drain on a commercial property within the TIF Zone. The drain is located in a car wash but is shared with the city. The estimated price tag for the project is around 12-thousand dollars.

Mayor Wagner also announced that the city street department will begin picking up yard waste on Monday’s. The Mayor reminds Lawrenceville residents to place grass clippings and other yard waste in bags for pick-up.
