Richard Eugene Morris, 73 of Vincennes, formerly of Arlington, VA, passed away at 2:15 am on April 13, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, IN.
Richard was born on August 18, 1942 the son of Richard and Norma (Parker) Morris.
Richard graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1960. He then attended Vincennes University graduating with honors in 1962 and went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree graduating with honors from George Washington University in 1964. Richard was Managing Editor for the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC. He had a passion for traveling and had been to every Continent in the World and also had a great passion for reading.
Survivors include his mother, Norma Morris of Petersburg; brother, Michael Morris of Petersburg; and niece Jennifer Morris Smith of Evansville. Richard was preceded in death by his father Richard Morris and sister Peggy Sue Morris.
Graveside services for Richard will be held at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery and burial will follow. There will be no visitation and Goodwin Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. On line condolences may be sent at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com.
