Frances Vee Hill, 95, passed away on April 8, 2016 at Colonial Assisted living in Vincennes.

She was born on November 8, 1920, the daughter of Lawrence and Fern (Donaldson) Nimnicht and was raised in the Wheatland community. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1938. She then married John B. Hill on March 25, 1946 and they lived a courageous life in their military travels, living in many states in his lifelong military career. In 1968, they returned to Wheatland upon his retirement to Frances Vee’s hometown.

They were both active members in the Wheatland Christian Church where they helped with the Youth Group while William Overbey was the minister. Frances Vee developed a deep bond with Reverend Overbey and his family during this time. After moving to Colonial Assisted Living Facility, she continued attending church services at the facility. She was known for her generosity to many group organizations and helped the Salvation Army for over twenty years ringing bells each holiday season.

Another passion of Frances was her love for animals and outdoors. She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and of course the love of her dog, Chris. She collected novelty elephants and various types of rocks on her travel.

Surviving are several cousins with Mike and Carla Donaldson acting as primary caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, John, and several aunts, uncles and several cousins from both the Nimnicht and Donaldson families.
