Several jailed over the weekend in various incidents

At 1:30 this morning, 26-year-old James A. Green of Petersburg was arrested in Vincennes after a traffic stop at Belle Crossing and Washington Avenue. Green is charged with driving while suspended with a prior and possession of a legend drug.

-33-year-old Justin M. Opell of Vincennes was jailed after an 11:30 traffic stop last night.  Opell was stopped at 10th and Main and charged with driving while suspending with a prior.

-A Vincennes man was arrested around 7 pm Sunday following a hit and run accident at 835 Emison Avenue. 34-year-old Jack L. Wright is charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and false informing. Wright is being held in the Knox County Jail.

-A Lawrenceville, Illinois man is facing multiple charges including possession of marijuana following a traffic stop Sunday Afternoon. 48-year-old Renold Dave Elp Junior was taken into custody around 3:30 pm in the Casey’s parking lot on Willow Street. Police say Elp was also wanted on a warrant out of Illinois on a probation violation. He is also charged with false informing. Indiana Conservation and State Police assisted in the arrest.

-A Vincennes man wanted on a pair of outstanding warrants was arrested by City Police Sunday afternoon. Officers went to 400 Felt King Road where they located 29-year-old Brandon Parish and placed him under arrest. Parrish was wanted on a Knox County Warrant for a probation violation. He was also wanted on a Crawford County, Illinois warrant for retail theft. He is being held in the Knox County Jail.

-Vincennes Police arrested Devon Carpenter following a disturbance Sunday in the 500 block of Manilla Street. Carpenter was booked into the Knox County Jail charged with disorderly conduct. .

-Vincennes Police arrested an Evansville man following a traffic stop at 6th and Barnett early Sunday morning. 25-year-old Adam Bealon was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Bealon was also wanted on a failure to appear warrant out of Vanderburgh County. He was booked into the Knox County Jail.
