Leroy Williams, 76, of Lake Lawrence, passed away at 4:16 pm Thursday March 31, 2016 at his residence.
He was born June 27, 1939 in Vincennes to Charles Leroy and Wilburta (Cardeau) Williams.
Leroy retired from United Parcel Service after 32 ½ years and was a member of Thursday Church.  He served his country in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He belonged to the American Legion, VFW, 4o et 8 in which he served as the chef de gare for 10 years, and was on the American Legion VFW all weather firing squad. Leroy enjoyed gardening and boating.
Surviving is his wife. Neyda Katherine (Cogswell) Williams whom he married on January 12, 1963; his children, Vincent (Janet) Conover, Kevin Conover, Lisa Craig, Charles Leroy (Cheryl) Williams, all of Vincennes, and Darren Williams of Lawrenceville; his sisters, Sue Moore of Vincennes, Doris Gray of Virginia, and Beverly Andrews of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Leah Lineberry, Steven Williams, Heidi Dodd, Phillip Conover, Skylar Lee Williams, and Nickolas Williams; along with nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Mary Sievers and Charlotte Starett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday April 8, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Debbie Salters officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites provided by the American Legion VFW all weather firing squad.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service.
