With no objections from the public, the Vincennes School Corporation is moving ahead with planned renovations to its four elementary schools.

The school board held a public hearing last night on the project, but there were no questions from the audience which consisted mainly of school administrators and staff.

Superintendent Greg Parsley says site work will commence this summer at all four locations. He says work at Riley Elementary will be more extensive and require students being relocated to another facility for the fall semester.

After Riley, renovations to Tecumseh-Harrison will begin in the summer of 2017 and take the entire year to complete.

Improvements at Vigo and Franklin Elementary will commence in 2018. The total project is expected to cost 40-million dollars.

Parsley Bonds to pay for the improvements will be sold. He added that the tax neutral project will not require an increase in property taxes to cover the costs.
