A piece of space travel history is coming to Indianapolis. Liberty Bell 7, the capsule which carried Hoosier Gus Grissom into space for his second time in 1961, will be on display at the Children’s Museum beginning June 25. The capsule was actually lost for nearly 38 years when it sank to the bottom of the ocean. However, it was recovered in 1999, and restored to its former appearance. The pilot of the craft, Gus Grillom, came from Mitchell, Indiana, and was the third human being to ever enter space.
