Gayle William Gunzel, age 70 of rural St. Francisville, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 in Vincennes, IN at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Lukin Township on August 29, 1945 to Edward and Avanella (Keneipp) Gunzel.
He married Deb Wease on November 7, 1964, and she survives.
Gayle grew up attending and was baptized in the Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was self-employed. He farmed and ran a backhoe service. Gayle enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting and talking on CB radios.
Surviving family includes: his wife- Deb Gunzel of rural St. Francisville: two sons- William L. Gunzel, Sr. and friend Kathy Edgin of Lukin Township and Fredd Gunzel and partner Jeremy Chase of Orlando, FL: one sister- Alberta Piper and husband Don of Sumner: two grandchildren- Paul Gunzel and Kimberly Gunzel: eight great grandchildren: one sister-in-law- Mary Harrington of Crossville: and one brother-in-law- David Wease and wife Diane of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Edward and Avanella Gunzel: one grandson- William L. Gunzel, Jr.: and one brother- Gilbert Gunzel.
A funeral service for Gayle W. Gunzel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Moffett Cemetery of rural St. Francisville.
