This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana.

Each year spring can bring unpredictable temperatures and conditions.

Director of the Knox County Emergnecy Management Agency John Streeter says the area is prone to harsh weather.

This week the Indiana Department of Homeland Security is asking Hoosiers to participate in the Statewide Tornado Drill Today.

Streeter hopes that families and businesses will take time this week to develop a plan of action should dangerous weather occur.

Streeter also encourages Knox County Residents to sign up for Code Red Weather Warnings.

Code Red notifies residents that severe weather is approaching by sending an automated alert to your cell or home phone via text message.
