Tecumseh Harrison Elementary School will soon be under construction.

A last night’s city council meeting, architects Myszak and Palmer Inc. presented their new plan.

Originally the plan was to vacate Eberwine Ave. between 2nd and Day Streets, and they were also vacating Day Street Off Of Eberwine.

That plan made Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff  have some safety concerns regarding access points if there were to be a fire.

With the new plan Pinkstaff feels much more comfortable.

Along with those changes Myszack confirmed that Eberwine will now need to be a one way going the opposite direction.

The plan was approved 5-0 on the 3rd reading with Councilman Tim Salters abstaining due to being an employee of  the school system.

The traffic flow change will need to be approved by the Board of Works.  The issue will come before that board’s next meeting.
