Norma Jane (Lamb) Vieck, 91, of Vincennes

Norma Jane (Lamb) Vieck, 91, of 1202 Essex Road, Vincennes, passed away at 12:05 pm Monday, March 14, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born April 26, 1924 in Olney, Illinois to Frederick and Renna Opal (Wolfe) Korb.

A 1943 Lincoln High School graduate, she worked as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell until 1946.Jane was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church and later the Old Cathedral. Other memberships included the Xi Delta, American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella, and the Old Cathedral Altar Society. Jane had the gift of hospitality as she made everyone feel welcomed, loved, and valued. She also enjoyed interior decorating by helping many customers at Bob Lamb Floor Craft. An avid supporter of the Knox County Humane Society, she loved cats.

Surviving is her husband, Maurice Vieck; her daughter, Sara Abramovitz of Overland Park, KS; her grandchildren,Dr. Aaron (Sharon) Abramovitz of St. Louis and Zach Abramovitz of Washington DC; 11 stepchildren, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert M. Lamb; and her two brothers, Kenny and John Kord.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday March 18, 2016 at Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Rev. David Fleck officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
