Imogene “Gene” Jackson

Imogene “Gene” Jackson, 94, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.  She was born July 10, 1921, in Arkansas, the daughter of Samuel and Bertha (Prince) Weaver.  She married Fred Jackson on January 10, 1939, and he passed away November 29, 1988.

 

Imogene was a professional seamstress for her entire life.  She was affiliated with the 6th Street Wesleyan Christian Church.

 

Preceding Gene in death were her parents and her husband, Fred.

 

Survivors include a son, Edward Jackson of rural Lawrenceville; three daughters, Mary Alice (Don) Heezen of Memphis, Tennessee, Freddie Jean (Gary) Wagner of Seymour, Indiana and Wanda Faye (Lynn) Barker of Groom, Texas; a half-brother, Roland (Kathy) Elam of Augusta, Arkansas; a half-sister, Jane Davis of Augusta, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Private graveside services were conducted.
