Wheatland and Sandborn accepting home repair grant applications

Grants are available to eligible homeowners for home repairs for residents in Wheatland and Sandborn.  The money could be used for windows, roofing, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, insulation and more.

Both towns are working with the SIDC, which is the Southern Indiana Development Corporation who is administering the grant applications.  The grant is offered through the Indiana Housing and community Development Authority an dis targeting to low and moderate income residents in the town limits of Sandborn and Wheatland.

If you’d like to apply you can do so in Wheatland on March 8th from 10 to 1 at the Wheatland Fire Station.  In Sandborn you can apply on March 10th at the Town Hall from 1 to 6 that day.

Applicants need to bring a copy of their recorded deed, proof of property insurance, 2015 tax returns and iff needed a social security or SSI statement.

Assistance is based on household size and income.
