Betty Jean Wilson, 85, of Vincennes, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. She was born on Feb. 10, 1931, in Lawrence County, IL.
Betty was a very giving person. She worked very hard to provide for her family. She had a beautiful servant’s heart, was always loving, and tried to meet the needs of others. She could always be counted on to provide food, transportation , prayers. An amazing listener, Betty was encouraging to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Carl “Bob” Wilson; her parents, Horace and Ruth (Racop) Norton; her sister, Helen Miller; and her brother, Noble Norton.
Surviving are her children, Lynne Nathan and her husband, Jon, Cindy Wilber and her husband, Dave, Carla Cobb, David Wilson and his wife, Mary Ann, and Greg Wilson and his wife, Kim; sisters Ruth Warren, Wilma McDaniel, and Carol Johnson; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and her furry friend and loyal companion, Peanut.
Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 4:00 – 8:00 on Tuesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, at 2:00, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Christ Community Church, or the Vincennes Animal Shelter.
