Knox County’s Life After Meth program is making a difference in helping men and women rebuild their lives.

LAM Participant Carly Cornwell told those attending the group’s annual banquet last night that she started using methamphetamine when she was 18-years-old. It wasn’t until several years later after she was arrested for meth use and facing jail time did Cornwell realize her life had hit rock bottom.

Through the Faith Based intervention program offered by LAM, Cornwell was able to overcome her drug addiction and transition back into the workforce where she found employment through K-C-A-R-C.

Cornwell says the most rewarding experience though is reconciling her two sons which she now has joint custody of and is able to be a part of their lives again.

Jennifer Pacheco, who is a member of the Life After Meth Board of Directors says helping to reunite families is the ultimate goal of the program.

She says they continue to rely on the generosity of the public to help operate the intervention program at the Knox County Jail and their two group homes in Vincennes.
