Robert L. “Bob” Piper, 63 of rural Bridgeport, Illinois

Robert L. “Bob” Piper, age 63, of rural Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born February 25, 1952, in Sumner, Illinois, the son of Cecil Roy and Dorothy Mae (Acton) Piper.  He married Kathy Wolke on July 20, 1991, and she survives. 

Bob was a lifelong carpenter. He was a member of White House Christian Church, Bridgeport. 

Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time outdoors. 

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, one brother Ronald Piper and one sister Carol Ann Heath. 

Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of rural Bridgeport; two sons: Steven Bowcock of Lawrenceville and Billy (Andrea) Piper of Bridgeport; two daughters: Melissa Piper of Bridgeport and Emily (Ryan) Combs of Bridgeport; five brothers: Cecil Piper of Olney, James Piper of Lawrenceville, John Piper of Sumner, David Piper of Lawrenceville, and Bud Piper of Laurel, Mississippi; two sisters, Cleora Gillespie of Lawrenceville and Dorothy Laughlin of Bridgeport; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

As per Bob’s wishes, his body is being cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. 

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
