John Gregg speaks to the Vincennes Rotary Club at Vincennes University on
Tuesday about ideas he would promote if he is elected Governor of Indiana

Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate John Gregg is hoping for a better outcome then four years ago when he challenged Mike Pence for the state’s highest office.

In order to have a chance in 2016, Gregg says they’ll have to try and sway moderate Republicans to vote for him. Gregg says they tried to do so in 2012, but many of those voters viewed Pence as being similar in philosophy to his predecessor Mitch Daniels.

Gregg told members of the Vincennes Rotary Club on Tuesday that Pence will be running on his record and the Sandborn native believes it’s a record that doesn’t hold up under close scrutiny.

Gregg also discussed part of his platform which includes increasing per capita income among Hoosier workers by creating better paying jobs and increasing the skilled labor pool. He says while the state’s unemployment rate stands at 4point-4 percent….per capita income has actually decreased from 17th nationally to 42.

Gregg acknowledged while he doesn’t have all the answers to the state’s problems, he vowed to work across the political aisle to find solutions.
