Prescription Drug Abuse is a growing problem in Knox County and Southwestern Indiana. After marijuana and alcohol, prescription drugs are the most commonly abused substances among teenagers age 14 and older.

Vincennes Assistant Police Chief Terry Johnson says they have a drop box located in the lobby of their headquarters where residents can drop off their unwanted medications.

The Local Coordinating Council for Knox County provided funding for the drop box. Johnson adds that no questions will be asked and residents can come in at any time to dispose of their unused prescriptions.
