The Group INVIN is working with various groups to revitalize the New Moon Theater downtown. Executive Director Ellen Harper told members of the Knox County Development Corporation Friday the roof on the building has been repaired to the point where it’s not leaking anymore.

Workers are currently cleaning the building and removing mold. The former marquee on the front of the building still works. Harper says there are about 200 bulbs that need to be replaced. Harper says Jim  Ziegler with Ewing Printing has reached out to a company he knows to see if its possible to secure replacements bulbs. Once the repairs are completed Harper says INVIN plans to market the building. She says some potential uses include a micro-brewery or restaurant. INVIN is in the process of acquiring property across the street from the theatre to provide additional parking.
