Blood Donations are down

The American Red Cross has an emergency need for blood and platelet donations. Due to severe weather since January 1st nearly 300 Red Cross Blood Drives have been cancelled across 20 states including Indiana.

The uncollected donations have further depleted an already low winter blood supply.

In Knox County, there will be a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Indiana Presbyterian Church on Monday, February 1st. The Red Cross will also be hosting a blood drive next Wednesday and Thursday at Vincennes University’s Beckes Student Union from noon to 6 p.m.

Blood donation appointments can be scheduled by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
