Betty J. Kitchell Moore Phillips, 85, passed away Friday January 1, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1930 in Vincennes to George and Margie (Jones) Kitchell.
Betty retired from Johnson controls after 32 years and was a member of the Bethlehem General Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, puzzles, and going to yard sales.
Surviving are her three daughters, Diane Schaller and her husband, Butch of Vincennes, Debbie Melvin and her husband, David of Vincennes, and Dana Mikiska and her husband, Walt of Fort Wayne; a step daughter, Ann Robinson and her husband, Bill of Indianapolis; a cousin, Ron Wilson and his wife, Paula, whom she thought of as a son; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her dog Hank.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George Kitchell and Margie Faith, her first husband, Elmer Moore; her second husband, William “Wig” Phillips, whom she married in July of 1967; a daughter, Donna Catt,; a brother, William “Bill” Kitchell Sr.; and a sister, Shirley Jean Kitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday January 5, 2015 at Gardner Brockman Funeral home with Rev. Pete White officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
