Darlene Lucille (Sayre) Stephens, 80, Bruceville, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Darlene was born July 16, 1935, in Missouri, the daughter of Harold Sayre and Jewell (Ransford) Judah. She married F. Henry Stephens on June 14, 1952. She was the co-owner of Midwest Fertilizer, then later worked as a quality control inspector for KCARC, North Knox Elementary School in food services, and a personal care provider.
Darlene is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Darlene Platt of McCormick, SC, Jane Stephens Schultz of Omaha, IL, and Paula (Don) Pesch of Bruceville; sons, Greg (Susan) Stephens of Bicknell and Jeff (Kathy) Stephens of Freelandville; son-in-law, John Buescher of Westphalia; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Patty, Nancy, Judy and Janet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, F. Henry on September 23, 2006; a daughter, Tina Buescher; one son-in-law, D. Platt; three grandchildren; one sister; and one brother.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Pastor John Moreland officiating.
