Vincennes Parks Superintendent Steve Beaman says new handicapped accessible playground equipment should be installed by this weekend. Mayor Joe Yochum and members of the city council appropriated funds to purchase the playground equipment. Beaman says one of the larger set pieces should be completed by this evening (Thursday). He says the equipment includes slides, swings, play panels and a climbing wall. Beaman believes children will enjoy the updated play area.

Beaman says the equipment upgrades puts the parks department in compliance with the American Disabilities Act.
