The list of candidates looking to replace Terry Johnson on the Knox County Council continues to grow. Four more candidates have filed for the at-large seat including former Knox County Councilman Greg Buss, Bob Murawski, Ryan Clark and Tom Peters.They join Brian Downen who announced last week his intent to run for the open seat on the council after Johnson decided to step down. Knox County Democrats will caucus at 9 a.m Saturday at Vincennes City Hall to choose Johnson’s replacement. His seat on the council will be up for re-election next year.
Democrats will also be selecting a new Knox County Treasurer and Vigo Township trustee. Those offices came open following the results of the November General Election. County Treasurer Sharon Duke won election to the Vincennes City Clerk-Treasurer’s office while Vigo Township Trustee Thomas Estabrook won the Bicknell Mayoral Race.
Knox County Recorder Brenda Hall has filed to succeed Duke as County Treasurer and Angie Goff is seeking to fill Estabrook’s unexpired term as Vigo Township Trustee.
