The celebration of Indiana’s Bicentennial of Vincennes will take center stage in 2016. The Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at Vincennes University will show the premiere of Alice of Old Vincennes:. The Musical is an adaption of the classic 1901 novel “Alice of Old Vincennes” by Maurice Thompson. It is the story of a woman coming of age on the Indiana frontier during the Revolutionary War. The adaption of Thompson’s story was written by James Spurrier, former director of VU Theater. Fund raising efforts are still underway for the professional production, with major contributions coming from VU. The musical is set to open during Memorial Day weekend in May.
