At last night’s (Monday) meeting the Vincennes Community School Corporation approved the appointing of Myszak and Palmer to be the architects of the VCSC. Naming an architect is the first step for the elementary school project of remodeling and refurbishing the aging elementary schools in the VCSC system. The board was satisfied with the feasibility and assessment study that Myszak and Palmer did on the elementary schools. School Superintendent Greg Parsley believes the partnership is a natural fit between both parties.
The next phase in the elementary school project will be to draft a request for proposal and begin looking at the hiring of a construction manager. The appointment of the construction manager is expected to go to the board in January.
Stephanie VanMeter, Kindergarten teacher at Tecumseh Harrison, has been recognized as the 2015 Vincennes Community School Corporation’s Teacher of the Year. She has also been announced as an Indiana Teacher of the Year Semi- Finalist. Superintendent Greg Parsley says VanMeter is an excellent representative for the school district.
VanMeter is in her tenth year at Tecumseh- Harrison. She attended the Indiana Teacher of the Year banquet in Indianapolis in November and was acknowledged as a semi-finalist.
